Class 3 Felony Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver - CASE DISMISSED

This client was pulled over in Round Lake Park for a traffic violation. The officer ordered the client out of the vehicle and conducted a search, finding several bags of cannabis, a scale, and a roll of cash worth approximately $1,500. The officer towed the vehicle, seized the money, and charged the client with a Class 3 felony.
The original offer from the State was 2 years prison. Lewis Gainor got all charges dismissed on December 29, 2009.
Class 3 Felony Theft - NOT GUILTY
Case No. 09 CF 738 - Circuit Court of Lake County
This client was charged with a felony offense for allegedly stealing property valued at approximately $10,000. The client had never been arrested before in his life. The case went to trial in the Circuit Court of Lake County on November 9, 2009 and the jury returned a NOT GUILTY verdict on November 12. The client can have the arrest record and court file expunged. (Waukegan Police Department arrest.)
Class A Misdemeanor Charges - ALL CHARGES DISMISSED
Case No. 09 CM 4848 - Circuit Court of Winnebago County
The defendant was charged with four criminal offenses:
- Possession of cannabis
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Possession of alcohol by a minor
- Consumption of alcohol by a minor
The criminal case resulted from a traffic stop for speeding in a work zone in Winnebago County. A trooper from the Illinois State Police arrested the client and obtained the above items from a warrantless search of the vehicle. Lewis Gainor appeared as his client's attorney in Rockford and got all charges dismissed on November 23, 2009.
Class A Misdemeanor Charge - CASE DISMISSED
Case No. 09 CM 5217 - Circuit Court of Lake County
This client was charged with a Class A misdemeanor offense of possession of contraband. He was arrested by officers of the Mundelein Police Department. Lewis Gainor filed a motion to suppress evidence, contending that the contraband was seized as a result of an unlawful search without a warrant. On October 28, 2009, the State's Attorney filed a motion dismissing all charges.
Misdemeanor Charge - DISMISSED
Case No. 09 CM 6057 - Circuit Court of Lake County
This man was arrested by officers from the Waukegan Police Department. He was accused of threatening the officers and barricading himself in this residence with firearms. The police SWAT team stormed the residence and arrested the client. Lewis Gainor got his case dismissed on October 21, 2009.
Client on FELONY probation and supervision for DUI, arrested for new offense - CASE DISMISSED.
Case No. YP-137-837 - Circuit Court of Cook County, 3rd Municipal District (Rolling Meadows)
Lewis Gainor represented this client on a possession of a controlled substance charge (heroin) and DUI in Chicago. Despite the fact that the client had previously been sentenced to 18 months in prison for the same offense, Lewis Gainor was able to get his client probation without a minute in jail or prison.
Unfortunately, while on probation and supervision for the DUI, the client was arrested for numerous misdemeanor offenses from a road-rage incident. As a result of the new arrest, the client was facing re-sentencing on the felony probation. Lewis Gainor appeared for his client in the Third Municipal District in Cook County (Rolling Meadows) on the new charges and got all criminal charges dismissed on September 23, 2009. Therefore, the client never violated probation. (Illinois State Police and Chicago Police Department arrests.)
Misdemeanor Charge of Aggravated Speeding - CASE DISMISSED
Case No. 55791263 - Circuit Court of Cook County, 5th Municipal District (Bridgeview)
This client was pulled over by a trooper from the Illinois State Police for driving 95 miles per hour on I-294. Driving 40 miles per hour above the limit is a misdemeanor charge. Lewis Gainor was able to get the case dismissed on September 2, 2009.
Misdemeanor Domestic Battery Offense - CASE DISMISSED
Case No. 09 CM 2711 - Circuit Court of Lake County
This client had been charged with domestic battery for an incident with a girlfriend. Domestic battery is an offense for which there is a minimum sentence of conviction, which cannot be expunged or sealed. All charges were dismissed on August, 18, 2009. The client can have his record expunged. (Vernon Hills Police Department arrest.)
