The police officer questioned her and the passenger and determined he had probable cause to search the vehicle. Inside the vehicle they found marijuana and a pipe. The Lake Villa police officers arrested her and transported her to jail. She was held in custody until her family bonded her out. She was facing Class A misdemeanors.

Lake County criminal attorney Lewis Gainor took on the prosecution in her case. He filed a motion to have the evidence that was seized in the vehicle suppressed because the police had violated his client’s rights when they searched the car.
